As the weather gets colder and the leaves are changing color and falling off the trees, the more it feels like I should be drinking something warm and hibernating on the couch in my living room with a bunch of good books and some Christmas movies. But unfortunately I can’t do that because I have a full-time job that requires me to get up early and travel each day to and from work.
However, I am getting into the holiday spirits! Pretty soon I’ll be taking the decorations out for our place and getting Christmas presents bought for different friends and family members. I even have my holiday nail polish strips ready to use for the rest of the season.
For Thanksgiving my husband, my father-in-law and I are traveling over to Long Island to visit their family for dinner. They are a big Italian/Long Island family, so very loud and tons of food. We try to switch off different holidays with the visits to his family and my family. Both of us have large families so it’s hard to decide which one we are going to see, we already know either way it’ll be packed and loud at either place.
I have to start my holiday shopping now so that I can get things for everyone without spending a ton of money all at once. I think figuring out all the presents is one of the fun parts of the holiday. For my family there are too many people to get presents for everyone so we have a name draw and get something for that person. I have to get something for my cousin’s fiancée this year which will be a little tough because I don’t know her very well. I got a few ideas from her over the summer so I’ll just have to look around a bit.
Not to bore anyone with the little details! I just wanted to post an update and got a bit carried away with the holidays. I am at the very end of my fitness challenge! I have to say this was a little hard to get through. I need to find another to start soon so that I continue to keep myself fit and motivated! I wanted to do another post to let everyone know that I have still been working on the challenge but I kept forgetting to post about it. Next thing I want to work on is building up leg muscle because for some reason I want to be better at running. I honestly hate running, but I got inspired by the New York marathon last weekend to get better at it.
Anyways I have to make sure I am keeping fit especially since I know with all the holidays there is also a lot of really good food and deserts. I am trying to make sure I stay on the healthier side even through the holidays. When I slip and start eating poorly I know how it affects my body especially since I already have health problems. So here is to keeping on track!
Hope all of your holidays are great! Let me know if anyone has any good ideas for the next fitness challenge.
